PLEASE NOTE YOU SHOULD CHECK THAT THE SENSOR & MOUNTING METHODS ARE SUITABLE FOR YOUR INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENT

Why are there so many sensor variants ?

Unfortunately everyone has different requirements for their site (e.g. immersed, high temp, size etc). As a result we provide sensors in different general formats which cater for most situations.

When selecting a sensor you should check that it is suitable for the equipment (e.g. MHC-Memo, MHC-Scanner etc.) and the environment (i.e. operating temperature, chemical resistance, cable length, size etc).

If you are unsure then please contact us.

Why should I use junction boxes and brackets

To maintain repeatable measurements it is important that the electrical signal from the sensor is noise free. By using accessories such as junction boxes & brackets you can keep the cables clean and tidy to ensure good readings.

What's the difference between MHC-standard and 50 Ohm sensors?

The main difference is that 50 Ohm sensors have a much lower output impedance which allows them to drive longer cables. However 50 Ohm sensors are only compatible with certain instruments. Be sure to check this before ordering.

As a general rule the maximum recomended cable lengths for the different sensors are :

MHC-Standard - up to 20m
MHC-50 Ohm - up to 100m

What adhesive is recommended bonding sensor, bosses & mounting pads

We normally recommend the use of a structural adhesive such as Loctite 326 with activator N (see www.loctite.com ). Other formulations should be checked for acoustic performance before use.

NOTE : YOU MUST CHECK IF THIS ADHESIVE IS SUITABLE FOR YOUR REQUIREMENTS AND THE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH IT WILL BE USED
